Backpacking Grand Canyon Rim-to-Rim is a challenge, starting high on the north rim @ 8,000 elevations and descending to Phantom Ranch's 2,500 ft. elevation. This day, we were midway between the North Rim and Phantom Ranch when I was rewarded with this view of fellow backpacker Lee as she moved towards Indian Garden, the afternoon sun and smoke from a controlled burn casting shadows around the curve.
