The Art of Movement 
Artists are always looking for inspiration for their next piece of art; the artists at Mountain Artists Guild are no exception. Every two months, we introduce a new theme and this month it’s “The Art of Movement.”  

Colors, textures, light, and shadow all look different in motion. 

In the quest to appreciate the fleeting beauty that exists all around us, artists typically capture the subject at rest, but in this case, the subject is motion; a visual whoosh and swoosh.  

The definition of "Movement": noun   The act, process, or result of moving.  A particular manner or style of moving. Usually movements, actions or activities, as of a person or a body of persons. Fine Arts. the suggestion of motion in a work of art, either by represented gesture in figurative painting or sculpture or by the relationship of structural elements in a design or composition. The working parts or a distinct portion of the working parts of a mechanism, as of a watch.  In music: a principal division or section of a sonata, symphony, or the like; motion; rhythm; time; tempo.

Dance, Gesture, Migration, Travel, Journey, Action, Wind, Waves, Athletes (human or animal), Skiing, Climbing, Waterfalls, Blowing Leaves, Tumbleweeds, Racing, Air Waves, Light Waves, Sound Waves, Tornadoes, Clouds, the possibilities are endless.
